UNIT DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT

Requesting parties are responsible for pick up and return of the unit.  The unit folds down into a small cabinet size on rolling casters  (32" x 24" x 20"),  weighing about 80 lbs.  The unit fits well in an SUV or van but probably will not fit in the trunk of a regular passenger vehicle.

"A World of Energy"  Solar Electric Education Module (E-Mod)   Smart Growth Advocates received a $5,000 grant award in January 2007 from the CDPHE to acquire an E-Mod to educate students on renewable energy.  The E-Mod is a portable experimental tool developed by Sunsense, the educational division of Earthsense, which uses solar energy to actively engage students in learning about important energy-related concepts and topics.

The energy curriculum (pdf) uses a scaffolding approach to build the knowledge and critical-thinking skills necessary for understanding important energy concepts and topics. The curriculum consists of a 3-chapter, 20 lesson sequence, which is highly adaptable to a wide variety of curricular objectives.  Smart Growth Advocates have made the E-Mod available to the Pueblo community and educators.  If you are interested in using the E-Mod, please contact us for information on borrowing the unit.  Read February 14, 2007 news coverage and our flyer or our February 2007 press release to learn more about the E-Module.
